Frequently Asking Questions

What does Set Joo Studio do?
We’re a photo & video production company that works with ad agencies, corporations, local businesses and other entities to produce internal and public-facing video projects. Typically, they are promotional or educational in nature.
What will it cost to produce my video?
Our standard pricing is mentioned on this page. A customized quote can be offered based on requirements.
Is there a “cost per minute” rule for video?
If you insist on having a way to calculate your project; Industry standards have suggested that you budget $1000 per minute at a minimum. However, since every video is different, it’s impossible to use this as a metric in all cases. We’ve done 15-minute promo videos for $15,000 and 30-second commercials for the same price. It’s kind of like asking, “What is the average price per square foot for a home in the United States?” Varies wildly, right?
Why are video crew rates broken down into full days and half-days? What if I only need 1 hour?
In our industry, the half-day and full day rates are standard. On any shoot, our crews put in a considerable amount of time developing a shot list, checking off shoot logistics, preparing equipment, transporting gear and setting up. Every shoot is a 4-hour commitment, minimum.
Who owns the footage you shoot for me?
When we are hired to produce a project for our clients ,our clients own full rights to all FINAL and FINISHED video projects produced by us.
What’s the difference between standard definition and high definition?
High definition video looks better than standard definition, because the image contains more information. High-definition video, or HD video, refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, and most commonly involves display resolutions of 1280×720 pixels (720p) or 1920×1080 pixels (1080i/1080p). Wikipedia can explain HD video better than we can. It gets very complicated and technical.
Why does shooting video take so long?
Shooting quality content is an art. It’s hard, and it takes a lot of time and patience. For example, while shooting of Eyes Wide Shut, Stanley Kubrick asked for 97 takes of Tom Cruise walking through a door before he was satisfied!

We like to plan ahead by doing a location scout and putting together a shot list. That way, we know exactly what and how to shoot beforehand. We also haul a ton of gear around with us, which is why our camera dudes are so hunky.

Videography

Are you looking for high-quality videography for your film? Alternatively, you may hire a professional in the industry to create the highest-quality pictures to tell your story. Setjoo Studio has the perfect solution for you!

What makes us different?

Our team is a great believer in staying on top of the newest trends and innovating. These days, a new approach to shooting is in high demand. This gives us a leg up on our competition, who are still using outdated approaches.

Why choose us?

We provide the best skills and techniques to optimize your videos which will highlight your story to be among the best. Our professional skill-set is well-versed in producing award-winning cinematography to tell your story.

Techniques we swear by:

  • Emphasis on light:

Although well-placed and regulated video lighting can help to fill up dark regions, artificial lighting can be harsh and unforgiving. However, the ideal strategy we use is to take advantage of as much natural light as possible.

Reflectors are used to elevate dark areas and position your subject so that they are facing a light source. It's critical to light your subject rather than the background, and to avoid silhouetting by shooting against a dark background.

  • Wired for sound:

The most prevalent flaw with any video recording is poor sound quality. Poorly recorded sound has no place in professional filmmaking.

Alternatively, to assure high-quality audio with high-resolution clips, we use high-tech clip mics connected directly (or remotely) to our camera.

  • Using manual focus:

Setting the focus also allows us to add cool effects to your video, such as using the rack focus approach to draw our viewer's attention by focusing on different items sequentially (with the help of a narrow depth of field blurring everything else out). When implemented properly, it is a very effective storytelling technique.

  • Utilizing jump cuts:

Essentially, the jump-cut eliminates "erms" and "umms," as well as slip-ups and repeats, which occur when we ramble around a topic or fumble when delivering a script. This technique allows us to deliver flawless delivery of the script.

  • Shooting to edit:

We like to get many angles and a few "safety pictures" when capturing a scene. This implies we'll have options when it comes to making the final cut. This saves time and effort that would have been spent re-filming otherwise. It also eliminates the risk of substandard shots, which would make the final product appear amateurish.

  • Top-quality equipment to shoot:

We believe a good camera goes a long way in producing high-quality video clips. Hence we utilize the most up-to-date cameras and lenses to eradicate any possibility of low video quality.

Why is good videography necessary?

Clips in videos have a vital role in delivering messages which create the backbone of the general story. An unpolished video gives an unprofessional and mediocre look to the end product. Hence we at Setjoo Studio prioritize shooting and creating the highest level of videos for your films to narrate your stories the way they deserve to be narrated!
